On Markov selection for the compressible Navier--Stokes system We discuss the problem of how to define a semigroup generated by a system of equations that may admit several solutions for given initial data. We propose a probabilistic approach based on the existence of Markov selection. We show how this approach applies to the compressible Navier--Stokes system driven by stochastic forcing.
