Kham (2009)
The Kham region (nothing to do with the theorem...) is the west part of the Sichuan province in China. It is inhabited by Tibetan people (the Khampas), reputed to be very tough people (see Alexandra David-Neel "Au pays des brigands gentilshommes" (1933)). Actually this region is more genuinely Tibetan than the central Tibet. The road starts from Chengdu and, after one day in Kangding for acclimatisation with altitude, it allows to access Litang, the capital of the region, at an altitude 4000m. This is a fascinating region!
