Schools on non smooth dynamics
Siconos: an European project
Research interests:
- Linear and nonlinear partial differential equations,
a strong preference for time dependent problems;
if I need the stationary case to work on time asymptotics, I use it,
the corresponding spectral theory.
- Ordinary differential equations with very irregular behavior;
applications to the dynamics of impact and contact.
- Time integration methods: alternate directions and splitting;
conception of high order methods; stability of these methods.
- Singular perturbations: reaction-diffusion and motion of
singular layers; superconductivity in thin domains.
- Models of phase transitions.
- An in the past: variational inequalities; artificial boundary
conditions; hyperbolic systems of conservation laws.
- I promise that I never touched homogenization or Navier-Stokes
equations; but it could come, who knows...
