ANR project MAS postdoc announcement
Call for applications
One post-doctoral position is available at the Paris node of the project MAS - Model theory of Algebraic Structures, funded by the French National Research Agency.
The project coordinator is Frank Wagner (ICJ, Lyon) and the Paris node coordinator is Tomás Ibarlucía (IMJ-PRG). The complete list of members can be found at:
https://math.univ-lyon1.fr/~tsankov/MAS/
Topics within the scope of project include: definable groups under generalized tameness assumptions; continuous logic and ergodic theory; algebraicity and transcendence in tame fields; groups of finite Morley rank.
Applicants should have a strong background in model theory or in one of the fields adjacent to the project (group theory, field theory, ergodic theory).
The position will be based at Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu-PRG in Paris.
The duration of the position is roughly two years (a bit less for experienced candidates, who would receive a higher salary). CNRS sets salaries individually based on experience but someone completing their PhD in 2025/2026 should expect a monthly salary of around 2475 € (net). There are no teaching duties.
Applications should be made through the following site:
https://emploi.cnrs.fr/Offres/CDD/UMR7586-TOMIBA-001/Default.aspx
The application should include a detailed CV with a list of publications, a research statement, and a short cover letter. Applicants should also arrange for at least two recommendation letters, to be sent directly to: ibarlucia@imj-prg.fr.
The position is expected to start in September or October 2026 but the exact starting date is negotiable.
To receive full consideration, applications and recommendation letters should be received before January 15th, 2026.
