When arriving in Lyon by train or plane, you will pass through the railway station "Lyon Part-Dieu". Indeed, even if you come by plane and land at St Exupéry airport, the easiest way to reach the university or the hotel is first to take the shuttle Rhonexpress and stop at the terminus "Lyon Part-Dieu".
From the railway station Part-Dieu to the university (about 15 minutes):
First of all, if you come from the shuttle Rhonexpress, you have to go
through the Railway station, from the "Alpes" exit to the "Rhône" exit.
Then take the tramway line T1 to "La Doua, IUT Feyssine". Stop at the
"Université Lyon 1" station and simply cross the tracks (carefully) to
reach the maths building called "Bâtiment Jean Braconnier" in front of
you. Here is a picture, and this is another one.
